September Reset Period Dominates Buffer ETF Inflows

The Buffer ETF market recorded total weekly net flows of $128 million, bringing the total Assets Under Management (AUM) to $73.48 billion. The landscape consists of 426 funds from 16 different issuers. Year-to-date net flows for the category stand at $9.75 billion. Over the past three months, 17 new funds have been launched.

Flows (As of September 4, 2025)

The September reset period was the primary driver of flows over the past week, recording $583 million in net inflows. This activity contrasts with the January reset period, which saw the largest outflows at -$350 million. Over a 30-day period, the September reset period also leads with $592 million in inflows, while the January reset had the largest outflows at -$421 million. On a 90-day basis, the July reset period has seen the most significant inflows, totaling $1.317 billion, whereas the January reset period experienced the largest outflows at -$699 million. Year-to-date, the Laddered reset period has attracted the most assets with over $1.9 billion in net flows.
